Consuta is reputed to have achieved over 27 miles per hour, on the River Thames. We believe that this would only be for a short sprint speed, the steam plant would not be able to sustain the 150 hp required for more than a short speed burst.

However, when the launch has been fully tested on the River Thames we would like to put Consuta on Windermere for a summer season. Current evaluation would suggest a speed of about 20 mph taking into account the total weights and machinery being fitted.
