Another view looking at the firebox crown. The vertical rods are the firebox crown stays. The two long rods are two of the three longitudinal stays, the ends can just be seen in the first photo. You can clearly see where the water level normally sits in the boiler. |

On the left are the firebox tube ends that were leaking, on the right are both ends of tubes that were OK
The tubes must have been leaking for some time for this wasting damage to have occurred
